Vatican Calls for Ethical AI and Human Dignity
Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, gave a strong speech at an international conference in Rome. He said that if artificial life forms don’t respect human dignity, mankind may become “extinct.” He spoke at The Dignity of Children and Adolescents in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and asked people from different fields and cultures to work together to make sure that technology helps people go forward.

Parolin echoed this perspective by saying that people still have the flexibility and intelligence to use technology for the greater benefit. He remarked that the problem is making sure that AI adds to the spiritual and moral aspects that make us genuinely human, not takes them away.
