The Russian cargo plane, flight SUM 9121, landed at 6:35 a.m. carrying a large quantity of humanitarian goods. The shipment included canned food, 58 rescue boats, 55 tents, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 bedding sets, and 1,000 dish and bowl sets.

Officials confirmed that affected households will receive the equipment and materials to support recovery and relief operations. The supplies will assist local rescue teams and displaced families by providing immediate shelter and basic necessities.

Ceremony Highlights Bilateral Cooperation

At the airport’s handover ceremony, Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko, representing the Russian Federation, officially presented the shipment to Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under Viet Nam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Viet Nam Expresses Gratitude for Russian Support

Deputy Director Nguyen Truong Son expressed deep gratitude to Russia for its prompt and generous assistance. He stated that the humanitarian supplies would be immediately distributed to provincial authorities to ensure fair and efficient delivery to those in greatest need.

“This help shows how close and cooperative our two countries are,” Son said. He also emphasized that global solidarity plays a vital role in strengthening Viet Nam’s resilience against the increasing effects of climate-related disasters.

Strengthening Disaster Preparedness and Regional Resilience

The emergency relief program supports broader initiatives to enhance disaster preparedness and climate resilience in flood-prone regions of Viet Nam. Heavy monsoon rains frequently cause landslides, property damage, and displacement across the central and northern provinces.

Russian aid will improve the capabilities of local response teams by providing essential rescue and shelter equipment. The two nations continue to collaborate through humanitarian and technical exchange programs, and this relief mission reinforces their shared commitment to mutual support.

A Testament to Enduring Friendship

Russia’s assistance highlights the enduring diplomatic partnership between Moscow and Ha Noi. Over the years, the two countries have deepened cooperation in energy, education, defense, and humanitarian aid. This latest support demonstrates mutual trust and shared values of respect and solidarity.

Ambassador Bezdetko reiterated that the Russian government remains a reliable partner in Viet Nam’s efforts to mitigate natural disasters, ensuring that affected communities receive the necessary protection and recovery assistance.

Joint Humanitarian Mission Highlights Shared Values and Solidarity

Local authorities and volunteer groups are coordinating to deliver aid swiftly and efficiently to flood-affected towns. Officials emphasized that transparency and accountability will guide all relief efforts to guarantee that assistance reaches the most vulnerable populations.

This humanitarian operation stands as a strong example of international cooperation during adversity, reflecting the shared values of compassion and unity between Russia and Viet Nam. By working together, both nations aim to build a safer and more resilient future for all affected families.
