A poll across the country shows that voters still strongly support Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. As a result, the cabinet still benefits from public support.

Economic Policies Boost Public Trust in Government
People said that government economic policies were a big reason why approval ratings stayed high. Because of this, fiscal intervention is seen as timely and effective.
Support was also connected to the extra budget for the 2025 fiscal year. So, voters think that policy action will lead to a stable economy.
Supplementary Budget Receives Broad Cross Party Approval
The extra budget has direct payments and winter utility subsidies for families. As a result, sixty-one percent of those who answered said they agreed with it.
Notably, people who didn’t support either side also voted for the budget. Because of this, it was popular with people outside of the ruling coalition.

Fiscal Responsibility Message Resonates With Younger Voters
People strongly supported Takaichi’s idea of responsible and proactive public finances. As a result, seventy-four percent of those who answered said they were in favor.
This method was especially popular with younger and middle-aged voters. So, fiscal messaging struck a chord with important demographic groups.
Nuclear Restart Support Rises Amid Energy Cost Pressures
A lot more people are okay with restarting nuclear power plants that meet safety standards. As a result, sixty-three percent now support reactivation.
People’s attitudes toward energy policy changed because electricity prices were going up. Because of this, practical concerns outweighed any previous doubts.
China Policy Stance Gains Additional Public Backing
More and more people liked how the cabinet acted toward China. Because of this, sixty-two percent backed Takaichi’s plan.
Compared to the poll from the month before, this was an increase. So, being firm in foreign policy seems to be good for politics.
Cost of Living Concerns Persist Despite High Approval
Almost half of the people who answered said they felt stressed out by the rising cost of living. As a result, a lot of people are still worried about the economy.
Even though they were under financial stress, most of these people still approved. In the end, policy credibility helped keep faith in the leaders.
