Former Economy Minister Faces Espionage and Corruption Charges
Alejandro Gil, the former Minister of Economy of Cuba, and several of his accomplices have been accused of spying and economic crimes. Government Lists Extensive Financial and Administrative Offenses
Prosecutors gave a long list of financial crimes that weren’t spying, such as forgery, bribery, and money laundering. Officials also said that the defendants had not paid their taxes and had not properly handled private papers that belonged to government institutions.
