PCO Pushes State Media to Embrace Artificial Intelligence
Mon Ilagan, the Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office, has asked state media organizations to use artificial intelligence in a responsible way. At the National Information Summit 2025, he advised communicators to use new technology to produce stories that are more responsive and include everyone.
He claimed that AI can help state journalists understand what people are thinking, make their information easier to read, and get more people involved. Ilagan said that using AI fits with the government’s goal of making public communication faster and more effective.

National Information Summit Highlights Collaboration
The National Information Summit lasted four days and was called “Decoding Data and AI: Transforming Journalism for People-Centered Communication.” It brought together important governmental agencies. The Philippine News Agency, People’s Television, IBC-13, Radyo Pilipinas, and the Philippine Information Agency were all there.
The main goal of the summit was to improve communication between government departments by making sure they all work together and increase their skills. Ilagan stressed that working together will build trust and make sure that public messages stay the same across all mediums.
