Wicked Sequel Promises “Extra Meat” and Emotional Depth
Jon M. Chu, the well-known filmmaker of Crazy Rich Asians, has said that Wicked: For Good, the much-anticipated sequel to Wicked, will be more emotional and intense than the original movie. Chu told People that the next part would be “having extra meat” and will finish the tale in a forceful and emotional way.
He applauded Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, who play Elphaba and Glinda, for their performances that really hit home. “This is where you get to see Cynthia and Ariana really act,” Chu remarked. “Now that they’re adults, they can look back on childhood dreams that have come true.”

The filmmaker said that the song For Good, which is the most important part of the movie, will be one of the most emotional passages in the whole series.
