Kolmar Korea to Lead AI Transformation in Cosmetics Manufacturing
The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources (MOTIR) has formally chosen Kolmar Korea as the only cosmetics firm to be part of South Korea’s ambitious AI Factory Alliance initiative. The project is part of the government’s plan to make Korea the “World’s Leading Manufacturing Power by 2030.” It will help Kolmar move into a new age of self-driving, AI-powered production in the K-beauty sector.
AI factories are different from typical smart factories since they don’t need people to set things up ahead of time. Instead, they employ real-time artificial intelligence to evaluate and improve production processes on their own. Kolmar wants to create a completely intelligent system that brings together all parts of the production process, from planning and formulating products to quality control, filling, and packaging.

AI Factory to Enable Agile and Small-Batch Production
Kolmar Korea will create an AI-powered autonomous production system that can quickly adapt to changes in client demand as part of the project. The business added that the change will speed up and make high-mix, low-volume production more efficient, allowing for unique formulations and packaging for a wide range of worldwide markets.
Kolmar hopes to reach over 95% process accuracy, which is one of the highest requirements in the worldwide cosmetics industry, by breaking up each stage of manufacturing into smaller parts and using powerful AI algorithms. The method will also cut down on the need to redo work because of faults, cut down on waste, and make production more efficient.
Four-Year Project to Redefine K-Beauty Manufacturing Standards
The AI Factory Alliance project will last for 4 years and 4 months, from September 2025 to December 2029. Kolmar Korea, the Bio Division’s top firm, will drive the AI Transformation (AX) of the cosmetics production ecosystem in the country.
Key objectives include:
- Creating a data platform that connects all of the manufacturing lines and operations.
- Creating self-driving AI control models to make sure that quality and accuracy stay the same.
- Setting digital standards for new ways of making things throughout the whole industry.

Empowering South Korea’s Vision for Global Industrial Leadership
The AI Factory M.AX (AI Transformation) initiative was started by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources to encourage AI innovation in all areas of manufacture, from cars to biotechnology. MOTIR chose Kolmar Korea because of its high level of technology, scalable infrastructure, and dedication to digital transformation in the beauty industry.
Officials claimed that the initiative fits with South Korea’s plan to make important export industries more competitive while also encouraging production methods that are good for the environment and based on data.
Building on Smart Factory Success Toward Full Autonomy
Since 2019, when Kolmar Korea put in place a smart manufacturing system that cut failure rates by 42%, the company has been getting ready for this change. The company’s AI Factory initiative will make those talents even better by building a next-generation autonomous production network that learns, adapts, and gets better all the time.
A Kolmar Korea representative remarked, “Being the only cosmetics company chosen for the government’s AI Factory project shows that we are leaders in technology.” “We want to change the standards for K-beauty manufacturing and make Korea a stronger player in smart production around the world.”
Global Expansion and Integration Across Kolmar Group
Kolmar Korea wants to bring its AI factory technology to its facilities in the US, Canada, and China. This will make sure that all of its factories use the same data and automation systems. The firm also wants to share its AI systems with other Kolmar Group companies, including:
- Kolmar BNH – health supplements and nutraceuticals
- HK inno.N – medicines and medical solutions
- Yonwoo – packaging and container systems for cosmetics
This expansion into other industries shows that Kolmar wants AI manufacturing to be a key part of its worldwide growth plan.
Pioneering the Future of K-Beauty Through AI Innovation
As customers want more tailored goods and faster delivery, Kolmar Korea’s investment in AI-driven autonomy marks a turning moment for the K-beauty business. The firm is creating the groundwork for speedier innovation, better quality, and long-term success by using data analytics, machine learning, and modular production design together.
The business added, “AI-driven manufacturing will change how cosmetics are made and how creative they are.” “We will lead the next chapter of K-beauty’s evolution through innovation and partnership.”
