People’s Party Engages Japan’s Keidanren For Economic Cooperation
Three contenders from Thailand’s People’s Party for prime minister met with Japan’s Keidanren to talk about their plans for economic development and reform. The high-level talks were mostly about making government more open, industrial strategy, and big infrastructure projects that would bring in foreign investment.
The meeting on November 24, 2025, in the Parliament Complex showed that the party wanted to build connections with Japan’s biggest companies. The talks made it clear that both countries could work together more in high-value manufacturing and digital technologies.

Thailand Aims To Build Stronger Economic Foundations
Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, the leader of the party, stressed Thailand’s important role in the global supply chain. He noted that the People’s Party wants to make policies that make Thailand more competitive while also helping people find jobs and improve their incomes steadily.
Natthaphong also stressed how important Japan is as a long-term trade and investment partner. His introductory words in Japanese got cheers from the more than 40 executives who were there. This showed that they all wanted to work together for a long time.
Transparent Governance And Regulatory Reform As Key Priorities
The People’s Party put a lot of emphasis on open government as a way to support steady growth. Leaders promised to get rid of old rules and make administrative tasks easier to make the business climate more stable for investors.
They said that establishing policies that are easy to understand will encourage new ideas and boost the confidence of businesses in both the U.S. and other countries. This fits with the party’s larger plan for economic reform, which includes making sure that public management is accountable and efficient.

Orange Megaprojects To Drive Infrastructure Investment
The “Orange Megaprojects,” which are big infrastructure projects meant to upgrade Thailand’s transportation and industrial networks, were also spoken about a lot. These projects want to bring in high-tech businesses by making logistics better, saving energy, and making connections better.
Sirikanya Tansakun, the deputy leader, said that these improvements to the country’s infrastructure will help Thailand compete better in innovative manufacturing, notably in semiconductors and electric cars. The strategy also helps create jobs and long-term growth in cities.
Keidanren Wants Political And Economic Stability
Jun Suzuki, who spoke for Keidanren, said that Japan needs political and economic stability for investment to continue. He noted that Japanese businesses doing business in Thailand would have long-term confidence if the business climate was open, clear, and predictable.
Suzuki said that Japan is still committed to Thailand’s industrial foundation and that Japanese companies prefer continuity and clear policies. He was hopeful that a government led by the People’s Party would provide the stability needed for future investments.
Focus On Green And Digital Collaboration
Keidanren leaders also stressed the need to increase collaboration between the two countries in the areas of green technology and digital technology. They said that Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) were an important area for working together, and they praised Japan for being a leader in clean energy and smart technology.
Both nations want to improve energy resilience and help decarbonization by combining BESS with other green technologies. These agreements will also help Thailand’s burgeoning renewable energy sector by encouraging the sharing of information and investment.

Dr. Veerayooth Kanchoochat, the deputy leader for strategy, said that Thailand has to become more integrated into global value chains in order to have long-term success. He talked about how to get global investors to come to the area by making the rules clear, improving the digital infrastructure, and training more competent workers.
The People’s Party’s talks with Keidanren showed that they both want to work together on policies that focus on the future and are based on collaboration, technology, and sustainable growth. The meeting shows that Thailand is confident that its relationship with Japan will continue to be an important part of its economic strategy as the country gets ready for national elections.
