Ooredoo Kuwait Unveils Nation’s First AI-Enabled Data Center

With NVIDIA’s help, Ooredoo Kuwait has opened the country’s first sovereign AI-enabled data center. This is a big step forward in Kuwait’s digital transformation path. The program was announced during the Al-Jarida MoneyTech Summit and is an important step toward making Kuwait a center for AI and digital excellence in the region.

Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, CEO of Ooredoo Kuwait, says that this achievement fits with Kuwait’s national AI policy and shows that the firm wants to be the first to provide sophisticated technological solutions that promote long-term economic growth and creativity.

A Turning Point for Kuwait’s Digital Future

Al-Babtain said, “The world no longer competes over traditional resources but over computing power.” He called artificial intelligence the “true energy of the future” and said that Ooredoo was leading Kuwait’s AI revolution.

He said that the global AI industry is anticipated to be worth more than $1.8 trillion by 2030. Ooredoo Kuwait wants to make the country a leader in developing AI engines and sovereign data capabilities. The business is starting to set up NVIDIA’s cutting-edge H200 GPU units in its data center, which will make Kuwait’s first integrated AI infrastructure.

Enabling a Connected and Intelligent Ecosystem

Ooredoo’s next step in technical progress is to combine 5G Advanced networks, fiber optics, and AI infrastructure. This framework lets both the public and commercial sectors use AI-driven innovation in important fields, including healthcare, education, energy, banking, and public administration.

Al-Babtain said that AI is already changing how Ooredoo works, from smart assistants and predictive analytics to network traffic predictions and AI-powered hiring processes. These apps help Ooredoo reach its ESG and sustainability goals by making things more efficient, helping people enhance their skills, and cutting down on carbon emissions.

Working with NVIDIA to Improve National AI Skills

The partnership with NVIDIA goes beyond just using technology; it also includes teaching people about AI and helping them improve their abilities. The relationship includes national training programs, hackathons, and projects to create large language models (LLMs) in Kuwait, all of which will help teach the next generation of AI experts.

Al-Babtain said, “Ooredoo is not just joining the AI race; we are already leading it.” “We are building the foundation for Kuwait’s next digital economy, which will be based on innovation, security, and collaboration.”

Building Kuwait’s AI-Driven Infrastructure

Ooredoo Kuwait’s Chief Technology Officer, Issa Haidar, remarked that the firm is now a leader in sophisticated network and AI technology. After putting in place 5G and 5.5G, Ooredoo is currently working on a nationwide network that uses AI to change Kuwait’s AI-driven economy.

He said that the relationship with NVIDIA is “a strategic move, not just a technical upgrade,” because it lets businesses design and run their own AI models on their own servers. This infrastructure, which meets the greatest security and compliance standards, protects data sovereignty while encouraging business innovation and national resilience.

Strategic Vision that Fits with Kuwait Vision 2035

Nouf Al-Mashaan, Senior Director of External Affairs and Strategic Projects at Ooredoo Kuwait, said that the project fits with Kuwait Vision 2035, which aspires to build a digital economy built on information and innovation.

She said that the data center was built after years of work between Ooredoo and government partners. She also said that it shows how public and private sectors can work together to improve the country’s digital infrastructure. “This isn’t just a technological milestone,” Al-Mashaan said. “It’s a group effort to make Kuwait smarter and more sustainable.”

Empowering a Sustainable Digital Economy

Ooredoo’s AI-powered data center is the basis for national digital independence and long-term innovation. It gives Kuwaiti businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers access to world-class AI tools right in their own country, which helps the region’s economy diversify and makes it a leader in technology.

The project brings together NVIDIA’s cutting-edge AI technology with Ooredoo’s telecommunications know-how to enable a future where Kuwait is a leader in AI-powered industries, smart infrastructure, and digital government. This will solidify its position as one of the world’s top countries for AI transformation.
